PRINT AND BE DAMNED

Print and Be Damned is a sceen print practice based in Dorset, working exclusively with screen print techniques.

Mark comes from a graphic design background, studing graphic design at several Art Schools before finishing with a BA(hons) from UCA. He went on to become a freelance designer working on a variety of projects before setting up a small independent press named 494 DESIGN. This became a vehicle for self publishing his photographic projects and an opportunity to get hands on with production, releasing small edition hand made books. While working on this imprint he had the chance to work with screen print and developed a great appreciation for the phsyical print process and all its possibilities.

From a love of typography and a fasination with halftone imagery Print and Be Damned produces bold, graphic, multi layered prints using found images and strong typography. Subject matter comes from a variety of cult film imagery, childhood influences and inspirational literature.

 

All prints are produced by hand by the artist, from intial design and screen production, to print pulling and final emboss stamping and numbering.

Currently all prints are made on Somerset Satin 300gsm paper.
